Now, I know there are some people (probably plenty) who either write their novel with a soundtrack in mind or come up with one as they go. That's fine as it goes, but I'm not one of them. Mostly because it would just feel weird to me, and also because I don't have that sort of time. And the 'soundtrack' would change every week with my tastes.

Well, I got five different rejections, which is too bad, but...my friends and I had a lightsaber duel during lunch period. And an audience. And it was formal Friday, so I was fencing with a red plastic lightsaber while wearing my Homecoming dress.

And I won. Twice.

I feel bad ass.

Reading back, I found this. And for whatever reason (maybe because I'm trying to regain the title of 'optimist' before I head off to college and meet new people), I feel the urge to refute it, almost a year later.

It's as if the Muse were apologizing for yesterday.

I have a contract from a pro-paying market sitting in my inbox. Suffice to say, 'excited' does not begin to describe me.

Yet, aside from the capslocks titling, this post looks relatively sane.

King's Mound, the story that didn't make it in the UW Whitewater writing conference ( about which I have my supsicions) has recieved a very nice rejection from Andromeda Spaceways. A VERY nice rejection.

1. It costs $21 to enter. First place prize money is $20, second and third considerably less.
2. The 2nd place winning story in the Fantasy and Science Fiction section was 14 pages long. The rules state entries must be a maximum of 10 pages. So a winning entry broke the rules of the awards.
